The Speakers Council is an organ legitimated by §32 of the statute of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. It is elected by the scientific staff, every two years. It works as a link with the President and the leadership of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, and represents the interests of the scientific workers.

• Mediation, Arbitration in case of non-juridical conflicts

• Point of contact for ideas, suggestions, worries, notes, critics, and complaints of the scientifc staff, concerning things not in the scope of the Personalrat

• Statutory organisation and carrying out of the yearly general meeting, as well as record-keeping

• Regular meetings with the President and the General Secretary of the BADW

• Promotion of cross-sectional communication across the various projects and institutes belonging to the BADW
